Yoga Teacher Spotlight: Ashlyn Elizabeth

My yoga teacher demonstrated what it means to show up to a pose with breath, body, and mind engagement. With rooting and rising action. With gentleness and ease. With strength and fire.

She also taught me to do one thing today that makes myself feel like a “Supercoolhappylovething.”

Yoga has taught me to explore myself and to do so with love, attention and patience. It’s a creation of moment-to-moment awareness, all the while honoring every piece of me and bringing shadow to light.

Yoga has taught me to be a wiggle wiggling somewhere on the edges of an ever-expanding inkblot.

I’m in an in-between. I’m an ebb and flow.

I’m a teacher and a student. Always learning from you and from the ancient ones.

And I’m here to hold space for you as you honor your authenticity and explore your Youness. I’m here to be with you as you live your yoga and I live mine.

Ashlyn Elizabeth has been trained under the guidance of Mary Byerly in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Iyengar yoga traditions. She received her 200-hour certification from Panacea de la Montagne in 2016.

She has been practicing for five years and teaching for two and a half. Since her training, she has taught power yoga, gentle yoga, vinyasa, restorative yoga and meditation, and chair yoga.

She’s an adventurer, and even outside the studio, you will most likely find her barefoot. And probably holding a cup of tea.
