Keeper of Ancient Skills, Brett Butler

Brett Butler, renowned keeper of ancient skills, joins 3DL to share his experience of Off-Grid TiPi Life and living close to the Earth in the Appalachian Mountains. Brett has lived for over a decade in a Sioux style TiPi, heating and cooking over fire, making animal hide clothes, keeping Honey Bees and sharing his passions for primitive living with the world. Brett graduated from Appalachian State University in 2011, majoring in Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology. Brett brings this combination of passion for the ancient natural world and study of sustainability in the modern day to teach us how to "walk with a foot in both worlds".

Workshops Description:

Join Brett Butler for an illumination into the world of natural fire and fiber. We will walk into the woods, taking note of useful plants and materials to gather to create a fire when it truly counts (think cold and wet). We will also learn to make cordage, handmade rope made from self-harvested natural fiber, in the ancient tradition.

You can find Brett's workshop in his TiPi Point of Light space!
