Sacred Dance Journey with Jaia Mara
“Dance becomes sacred as the beauty of movement communicates the divine ideal. In sacred dance, one is found and used by the soul of nature.” -Sacred Women, Sacred Dance.
By expressing Sacred Movement with the body, we can format new pathways in the body to tune into the divine. Dance and movement were among some of our first forms of medicine and devotion. Through conscious movement, we invite the mind to a deeper journey, abandoning the daily surface mind, and calling up the consciousness to revel in the sacred through movement. Like a key, Sacred Movement can open the doorway between the consciousness and the psyche, and can encourage the two rooms to become one.
In this workshop, we will explore intentional group movement through geometry, elemental mimicry, and invocation to communicate the Divine Ideal. We will learn a dynamic movement phrase that can performed in front of the stage at the beginning of the HuDost set on Sunday evening. You can also keep this series for yourself; used personally or shared within your family or your circle, in meditation or celebration. Join us in Unity.
